From Brooklyn to Upstate to First Time Home Buyers in Brooklyn to Passive Home Gut Reno
Brooklynites lived Upstate during the pandemic and dreamed of buying a house in the country. But they missed City life and in 2021 purchased a Park Slope brownstone built in the 1870s. With 3400 square feet, it needed of a gut renovation. The owners wanted to retain original details so that it wasn’t “cookie cutter” and “devoid of personality.” Eighteen months later, with the help of a Manhattan architecture firm, the renovation was completed and received EnerPHit certification from the Passive House Institute.
