Kevin Roche, Architect Who Melded Bold With Elegant, Dies at 96 (NYT Repost)

Whether you know him by name or his buildings, architect Kevin Roche was a giant in his field. He trained under famed architect Eero Saarinen (who designed the TWA Terminal at JFK). Roche’s New York works included the Ford Fundation headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, finished in 1967, and the Metropolitan Musuem of Art’s glass pavilion enclosing the Temple of Dendur completed in 1979.
